Initial project
During the Winter Open at Wimbledon Art Studios I asked people to interact with this painting (180x100cm Oil on board), the images on the right show the day by day change. I took individual photos of each set of initials which I hope to animate in the near future.
These rules were along side the painting:
Please contribute to this painting by using the chalk provided to write the initials of either:
- A first love
- A true love
- A secret love
- One that got away
Place the letters anywhere on the painting, later I will carve them into the piece. Please make the letters small and don’t include your own initials
This is a painting of a hoarding at the Shard building site which is covered by a photo mock-up of the city with the completed Shard.
Some of the hoardings have had initials scratched in, I want to replicate and multiply this effect to explore ideas of passing population, growth, union, what is temporary and what is permanent?
